Common aspect ratios
These five frames cover most creator exports. Each page is a calculator locked to that ratio, plus typical pixel sizes.
Widescreen
16:9 is the landscape standard for YouTube, broadcast, decks, and most monitors. Lock one side and RatioFit fills the other without stretching the frame.
9:16Vertical
9:16 is the phone-native frame. Shorts, TikTok, Reels, and Stories all fill a 9:16 canvas. Start from 1080 wide unless you have a reason not to.
1:1Square
Square frames still earn feed real estate and stay readable when a platform downscales. Enter either side; the other matches.
4:5Portrait feed
4:5 is Instagram’s tallest in-feed photo. It occupies more screen than 1:1 without opening as a Story. 1080×1350 is the size to export.
21:9Ultrawide
21:9 is the ultrawide / “scope” look. It is common on monitors and as a letterboxed cinematic crop inside a 16:9 deliverable.
